About The District Bar

The District Bar is a gastropub and live-music venue at 916 W. First Avenue in downtown Spokane. It sits beside Knitting Factory’s main concert house, with the Bing Crosby Theater and The Fox in the surrounding entertainment district. The space combines restaurant and bar service with its own concerts and Jazz Room performances. Its entrance, opening hours and admission terms should be checked separately from a show in the larger Knitting Factory room.

Plan Your Visit to The District Bar

Which entrance should I use?

Use the First Avenue address for The District. The main Knitting Factory concert house uses 919 W. Sprague Avenue. Confirm the room printed on your ticket before deciding which line to join.

If you are meeting a group, name the bar and street rather than simply saying “the Knitting Factory.” That distinction helps when some guests are coming for dinner and others are attending a ticketed performance.

What are the hours and age rules?

The District publishes a 4 p.m. opening Tuesday through Saturday, and before most Sunday and Monday shows. It generally operates as a 21+ venue, but its current site specifically notes that some concerts are all ages.

The event’s age restriction and door time therefore matter more than the usual bar schedule. Bring valid ID for age-restricted admission and alcohol service. A restaurant opening time does not automatically establish when a concert begins.

What food and drink options are available?

The menu includes starters, salads, flatbreads, burgers, sandwiches and entrees. Drinks include cocktails, rotating draft selections and nonalcoholic options. Check the current menu for availability rather than relying on older prices or a photograph.

For a pre-show meal, allow time for service and payment before doors. Ask staff about dietary needs and whether food service continues during the performance you are attending.

What should I know about the room setup?

The District is a smaller performance space with its own schedule. Its Jazz Room and other music bookings should not be treated as a description of the main concert-house floor.

Read your admission category carefully. Ask whether a ticket includes a particular seat, a table or general entry, and whether a group must arrive together. The main Knitting Factory’s standing-room and shared-table rules cannot automatically be applied to this room.

How do I plan an accessible visit?

Call 509-244-3279 with the performance name and date to ask about the First Avenue entrance, a step-free route, restroom access and companion seating. Describe any equipment or transfer needs so staff can respond to the actual event setup.

Choose parking under the posted public lot or street rules. If someone needs a shorter walk, arrange a legal drop-off point and confirm the entrance first. Do not assume that a neighboring venue’s parking or accessible route serves The District.

Can I combine dinner with another downtown show?

The District’s own site identifies nearby theater and concert audiences as part of its setting. If you are dining here before a performance at The Fox, the Bing or the main Knitting Factory, keep the two bookings distinct.

Allow time to walk to the second venue, pass its screening and find your seat. Each venue sets its own bag, ticket and entry policies, even when the buildings are close together.

The District Bar FAQs

Is The District inside the main Knitting Factory concert room?

It is an associated neighboring venue with its own First Avenue address.

Are all District concerts 21+?

No blanket rule applies: the current venue site notes some all-ages concerts. Check the performance.

Does the restaurant opening time equal showtime?

No. Use the individual event’s doors and performance information.

Can I rely on the main venue’s seating chart?

Confirm The District’s own seating or admission arrangement for your show.
