Des Bishop

Des Bishop at Spokane Comedy Club

Des Bishop grew up in Queens, moved to Ireland as a teenager, learned Irish from scratch to perform stand-up in that language, then spent time in Beijing learning Mandarin for another show. That's not a typical comedy résumé. It's the résumé of someone who chases ideas wherever they lead and turns the cultural collision into material. On Sunday, February 28, 2027, at 6:00 PM, Bishop brings his Grey Area Tour to Spokane Comedy Club. If you want comedy built from genuine curiosity rather than recycled bits, this is a night to consider.

Bishop's openness and perceptive observations have made him a familiar name in Ireland and a rising presence in the U.S. His shows—like the one where he lived on minimum wage working different jobs, or the series that won an Irish Television Award—reveal a comedian willing to immerse himself fully in an idea. That restlessness translates into stand-up that feels personal and unpredictable, not polished into safety.

Bring the friend who enjoys comics with actual stories to tell. Someone who's lived between cultures, learned hard things and turned awkwardness into punchlines gives you something richer than punchlines alone. A Sunday evening show leaves your weekend intact and gives you a shared story worth revisiting.
