About Davenport Hotel, Autograph Collection

The Davenport Hotel, Autograph Collection, usually called the Historic Davenport, is a downtown Spokane hotel and event venue at 10 S. Post Street. Opened in 1914, it is known for an ornate lobby and historic ballrooms as well as its role in the city’s hospitality history. Concerts and other gatherings take place in rooms configured for the occasion. This is a separate property from The Davenport Grand on Spokane Falls Boulevard, an important distinction when arranging parking or meeting a group.

Plan Your Visit to Davenport Hotel, Autograph Collection

What is historic about the Davenport?

The hotel was developed under Louis Davenport and designed by Kirtland Cutter. A major restoration completed in 2002 preserved features including hand-painted frescoes, decorative woodwork, marble and the lobby hearth. The Spanish Renaissance lobby and Hall of the Doges are among its recognizable spaces.

These interiors make the building useful to visit for more than an overnight stay. The hotel identifies a self-guided historic walking tour through its front desk; check access before exploring rooms that may be reserved for private functions.

Which room will my event use?

The hotel publishes almost 33,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Named rooms include the Hall of the Doges, Marie Antoinette Ballroom, Elizabethan Room, Isabella Ballroom and Grand Pennington Ballroom. These are separate spaces, with different dimensions and capacities.

Use the room named by your organizer and its actual concert chart. A ballroom’s banquet capacity does not establish the number of concert seats or their positions. Ask whether your admission specifies an individual seat, a seating zone or another arrangement.

Where do I arrive and park?

Use 10 S. Post Street for the Historic Davenport. Its self-parking garage is at the southwest corner of First Avenue and Post Street, and valet service is also available. Ask about the parking terms for a short event visit.

The amenity page publishes overnight hotel parking rates, which should not be treated as the concert parking price. Confirm how long your parking is valid and which pedestrian exit brings you back to the hotel entrance.

How do I arrange an accessible visit?

Visit Spokane identifies the property as ADA accessible. The collection’s accessibility information describes accessible public entrances, restrooms and parking. Ask the hotel which route serves the particular ballroom or event room on your ticket.

For a concert, coordinate seat placement and companion needs with the organizer as well as the hotel. A room with a historic name may have different access details from a lobby or restaurant, so give staff the exact room and date.

Can I eat at the hotel before the event?

The hotel identifies Palm Court Grill, Peacock Room Lounge and an espresso bar among its dining options. Check their current service hours and allow time to settle your bill before concert entry.

Hotel facilities and event admission are different services. An event ticket does not by itself include a guest room, parking, a meal or access to amenities intended for overnight guests. Check any package description for what is actually included.

What should I confirm before leaving?

Keep the full property name, street address and event-room name available. Several Davenport properties operate downtown, and a ride booked simply to “the Davenport” may need clarification.

For bag rules, late arrival, photography and seating-zone questions, follow the event organizer’s instructions. Hotel reception can help locate the room, while the organizer is the appropriate contact for the performance’s admission conditions.
