Holiday Pops: Jazzy Winter Wonderland

Holiday Pops: Jazzy Winter Wonderland at Martin Woldson Theatre At The Fox

Jazz gives holiday songs room to breathe. Familiar melodies stretch, shift tempo, and settle into something warmer than the versions played in every store. The Spokane Symphony pairs a full orchestra with jazz vocalist Sara Jones for Holiday Pops: Jazzy Winter Wonderland on Sunday, December 13, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Martin Woldson Theatre At The Fox. Expect holiday classics approached with swing, soul, and orchestral presence.

Jones has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, and Boston Pops Orchestra. She won first place in the Billie Holiday Vocal Competition and served six years with the Soldiers' Chorus of the U.S. Army Field Band. Her recording Daydream A Little features Brazilian Jazz Group Trio Da Paz. Bring someone who appreciates singers who know how to interpret a standard, not just deliver it.

The program includes Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride, Irving Berlin's I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm, and a jazz arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker. Conductor Morihiko Nakahara leads the Spokane Symphony Chorale alongside the orchestra. The show includes a sing-along and a Santa Claus appearance, making this an afternoon for the whole family. A Sunday matinee keeps the evening open and gives you something festive without the late-night commitment.
