Spokane Symphony: Sameer Patel - The Pastoral

Spokane Symphony: Sameer Patel - The Pastoral at Martin Woldson Theatre At The Fox

Birdsong, thunderstorms, and rustic dances spill from an orchestra when the composer wants you to feel the countryside instead of just imagining it. Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony does exactly that, paired with Sibelius's icy violin writing and Tchaikovsky's ballroom grandeur. On Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM, the Spokane Symphony presents The Pastoral at Martin Woldson Theatre At The Fox, with guest conductor Sameer Patel and local favorite violinist Yvette Kraft.

Sibelius's Violin Concerto demands soaring lyricism and brilliant technique. Kraft, a familiar presence to Spokane audiences, brings that concerto to life in a performance that gives you someone local to root for. Watching a musician navigate a technically demanding work adds tension and satisfaction that a recording can't deliver.

Make it an afternoon with someone who enjoys music but doesn't need a formal occasion to attend a concert. A Sunday matinee offers an accessible entry point: arrive at 1:30 PM, catch the preconcert talk at 2:00 PM, and let the symphony turn your weekend into something more than errands and screen time. Check ticket options for Spokane Symphony's The Pastoral and give yourself a reason to spend a November afternoon inside the Fox.
