The Brothers Comatose

The Brothers Comatose at Knitting Factory Spokane

What do you get when you take traditional bluegrass instruments and run them through the energy of California rock? The Brothers Comatose call it Golden Grass, a sound that feels more like a beach bonfire than a mountain holler. On Sunday, November 22, 2026, at 8:00 PM, the San Francisco quintet brings that West Coast roots movement to Knitting Factory Spokane. If your taste runs toward string bands with an exuberant streak, this show belongs on your calendar.

The band layers fiddle, banjo, mandolin and upright bass with rich vocal harmonies, building songs around natural imagery from desert to redwood forest. Their approach stays laidback and relaxed rather than refined and rigid. Fans of Greensky Bluegrass, Lake Street Dive and The Devil Makes Three have followed them for nearly two decades, drawn to performances that invite participation instead of demanding reverence.

Invite the friend who still makes you mixtapes, or the partner who thinks acoustic music peaked somewhere between folk revival and alt-country. The Brothers Comatose bridge those eras without living in either one. A Sunday show gives you a reason to close the weekend with live music instead of scrolling through another forgettable evening at home.
