The Piano Guys

The Piano Guys at First Interstate Center for the Arts

A cello line meets a pop hook, and a familiar song opens up in a new direction. The Piano Guys have built a career around that musical curiosity. Their genre-bending sound—classical meets cinematic meets contemporary—has earned more than 2 billion global streams and six No. 1 debuts on Billboard's Top Classical Albums chart. On Friday, February 5, 2027, at 7:00 PM, they bring that unlikely fusion to First Interstate Center for the Arts. If you've been curious about music that refuses to stay in one lane, this is your chance to hear it live.

Four middle-aged dads from Utah started filming classically influenced music in nature, and somehow it worked. Jon Schmidt on piano, Steven Sharp Nelson on cello, plus Paul Anderson and Al van der Beek shaping production—they've been chasing the fringes of possibility since 2011. Their 2023 album Unstoppable continues that pattern: exhilarating, emotionally profound covers that combine elements you'd never expect to find together. Live, those audacious compositions take on new dimension when you're in the room.

Bring someone who loves music but hasn't found their favorite genre yet. The Piano Guys offer an entry point for listeners who want classical depth without the stuffiness, or pop energy grounded in real musicianship. You get to discover together what happens when a cello line meets a familiar melody, transformed into something neither classical purists nor pop fans quite anticipated.

A Friday evening in February gives you a reason to dress up, show up, and experience something built for a live audience. Explore ticket options for The Piano Guys and make space for a night of music that defies easy categories.
