Spokane Symphony: James Lowe - Operatic Passions

Spokane Symphony: James Lowe - Operatic Passions at Martin Woldson Theatre At The Fox

Opera distills human emotion into sound. Passion. Heartbreak. Triumph. Laughter. The Spokane Symphony performs Operatic Passions on Saturday, April 24, 2027, at 7:30 PM at Martin Woldson Theatre At The Fox. Conductor James Lowe leads soprano Madison Leonard, tenor Alex Richardson and the Spokane Symphony Chorale through beloved arias and choruses from Verdi, Puccini, Wagner and Strauss. You don't need to follow the plot of a four-hour production to feel the power of these voices.

The evening includes Puccini's "Nessun dorma" from Turandot, Verdi's Anvil Chorus from Il trovatore and "Va, pensiero" from Nabucco. Each piece was written to stir something specific: longing, defiance, hope. The chorale gives the night its grand scale. The soloists make it intimate. Together, they create moments that land whether you've studied opera or simply enjoy a singer who can fill a theater.

Bring the person who likes their music emotional and unapologetic. This is a chance to experience vocal power in person, with a live orchestra backing every note. Or make it your own Saturday evening and let the drama unfold without distraction.
