Spokane Symphony: Morihiko Nakahara - Elf In Concert

Spokane Symphony: Morihiko Nakahara - Elf In Concert at Martin Woldson Theatre At The Fox

Buddy travels from the North Pole to New York. He believes he's an elf. He believes the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear. If you love that character's journey, you already know the story. Watching the full film with a live symphony changes how you experience it. The Spokane Symphony performs John Debney's score while the movie plays on the big screen at the Martin Woldson Theatre at the Fox on Sunday, December 20, 2026, at 3:00 PM, under the baton of conductor Morihiko Nakahara.

The score underlines every moment of wonder, every awkward collision between Buddy's innocence and the skeptical adult world he stumbles into. Hearing those musical cues performed live adds weight to scenes you might quote from memory. The orchestra brings nuance you don't catch through television speakers.

A Sunday matinee gives families a chance to make this outing part of the holiday season without keeping younger audience members up late. Pick the people you want beside you when Buddy finds his father, or when he powers Santa's sleigh with collective belief. Those scenes land differently when you're in a room full of people rooting for the same outcome.
