Young Artists Celebration Concert

Young Artists Celebration Concert at Martin Woldson Theatre At The Fox

Young musicians earn their place on stage through years of practice, adjudication and competitive auditions. On Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 7:30 PM, the Spokane Symphony shares the Martin Woldson Theatre at the Fox with MusicFest Northwest Young Artist Winners, the Spokane Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Spokane Youth Philharmonic. If you enjoy live orchestral music, this concert offers a chance to hear rising talent perform works by Mozart, Gregson and Bernstein alongside seasoned professionals.

The program features young soloists performing challenging concerto movements: Mozart's Piano Concerto in A Major and Bassoon Concerto in B-flat Major, Edward Gregson's Tuba Concerto and the Finale from Max Bruch's Scottish Fantasy. These pieces demand technical skill and musical maturity. Hearing a 16-year-old pianist or a university bassoonist tackle this repertoire gives you perspective on what young musicians can accomplish when preparation meets opportunity.

The evening also brings student orchestras and the Spokane Symphony together for side-by-side performances, creating an intergenerational collaboration that fills the Fox with shared artistry. This format offers something beyond a typical recital: mentorship unfolding in real time, with students and professionals playing the same score. Bring someone who remembers their own music lessons or who wants to introduce a young listener to live orchestral performance.

If you've been curious about supporting young artists or simply enjoy hearing orchestral music performed well, this concert gives you both. Check ticket options for the Young Artists Celebration Concert and plan a Thursday evening that connects three generations of musicianship in Spokane.
