Spokane Symphony: Wands Wizards and Dragons at Martin Woldson Theatre At The Fox

Magic sounds better when a full orchestra plays it. Spokane Symphony's Wands, Wizards and Dragons builds a Sunday afternoon around young listeners who are curious about music, drawn to fantasy stories, or both. On April 4, 2027, at 2:00 PM, the concert begins at Martin Woldson Theatre At The Fox. Doors open an hour earlier for lobby activities designed for ages five through twelve: crafts, games and an instrument petting zoo, with appearances by Spokane Elite Dance and local musicians. Selections from Harry Potter and other fantasy favorites give families an inviting route into live orchestral music.

This format works for families navigating different attention spans. The early lobby hour gives restless energy a place to go before the music starts. Younger children can touch instruments, try a craft, or watch local performers. Older siblings might focus on the stage presentation. Either way, the afternoon builds anticipation rather than asking everyone to sit still from the start.

Bring a child who asks questions about how things work, who loves a good quest story, or who hums along to everything. A family concert offers a different Sunday plan than screens at home, with something happening in front of you instead of through a device.
