Shucked

Shucked at First Interstate Center for the Arts

A small town. Dying corn. An unscrupulous con artist. If that setup sounds absurd, you've understood the assignment. Shucked is a Broadway musical that leans into its own ridiculousness with enough commitment to earn a Tony nomination for Best Musical. On Tuesday, March 30, 2027, at 7:00 PM, it arrives at First Interstate Center for the Arts in Spokane. If you enjoy musicals that refuse to take themselves seriously, this is a show worth leaving the house for.

The plot follows Maizy and Beau as their community faces a crisis that requires someone to venture beyond Cob County. The story includes knockout songs like 'Woman of the World', 'Somebody Will' and 'Independently Owned', all wrapped around an unlikely hero and a battle for the heart and soil of a dying town. The musical knows exactly what it is: corny innuendo, adult themes and sharp comedy delivered through talented performers.

Bring someone who appreciates humor that commits to the bit. A partner who laughs at wordplay, a friend who enjoys musicals that don't demand reverence, or the person in your life who simply needs a Tuesday night out. Shucked runs 2 hours and 15 minutes with intermission, giving you enough time to settle into the world it creates without overstaying its welcome.
