The Music Man

The Music Man at First Interstate Center for the Arts

A charming con man meets a skeptical librarian in small-town Iowa, and the trouble begins. The Music Man builds a story around transformation, belief and the surprising things people are willing to risk when someone reminds them what they're capable of. On Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM, Meredith Willson's six-time Tony Award-winning musical comedy arrives at First Interstate Center for the Arts in Spokane. If you've been looking for a show that brings family together without talking down to anyone, this is a strong contender.

The songs do much of the work. "Seventy-Six Trombones," "Trouble," "'Til There Was You," "Gary, Indiana": these are numbers that stick with you, whether you've seen the show before or you're meeting Harold Hill for the first time. They're optimistic without being cloying, and they move the story forward rather than stopping it cold. Musical theater fans know the difference.

A Sunday matinee gives you flexibility. You're not committing the entire evening; you're setting aside an afternoon. Kids aged six and up are welcome, and the show runs approximately two hours and forty-five minutes. That's enough time to get drawn into River City without feeling like you've signed up for an endurance event. Plan a meal afterward and let everyone compare favorite moments.

Invite someone who appreciates stories about second chances and unexpected change. A parent, a kid who's curious about theater, the friend who still hums show tunes from childhood: this matinee gives you something to experience together. Check ticket options for The Music Man and make Sunday, November 15 a day worth remembering in Spokane.
