Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet

Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet at First Interstate Center for the Arts

Tchaikovsky's score still carries magic more than a century after its premiere. The Nutcracker blends ballet, whimsical puppetry and acrobatics into a seasonal production families return to each year. On Saturday, November 21, 2026, at 3:00 PM, Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet comes to First Interstate Center for the Arts in Spokane, Washington. If holiday traditions matter to you, this matinee offers a live performance that screens and recordings cannot replicate.

An international all-star cast performs alongside lavish costumes and acrobatic sequences that keep younger audiences engaged. This production treats The Nutcracker as more than a recital. The inclusion of puppets and physical spectacle gives children something fresh to watch while adults rediscover the music they already know. That combination makes the afternoon work for multiple ages seated together.

Bring grandparents, siblings or the youngest member of the family who has never seen live ballet. A Saturday afternoon performance lets you build the rest of the day around it: lunch beforehand, hot chocolate afterward, a conversation about favorite moments on the drive home. This is the kind of outing that becomes part of your family's December routine, if you let it.
