Spokane Symphony: The Nutcracker With The State Street Ballet at Martin Woldson Theatre At The Fox

The Nutcracker Ballet at Martin Woldson Theatre At The Fox in Spokane gives families an annual reason to gather. On Wednesday, December 2, 2026, at 6:00 PM, State Street Ballet and over 90 local dancers perform alongside the Spokane Symphony, which plays Tchaikovsky's complete score live. That combination of dancers and orchestra in the same room offers something screens cannot deliver: the presence of musicians interpreting the music while you watch the story unfold.

Tchaikovsky wrote a score that continues to hold attention across generations. Conductor James Lowe leads the Spokane Symphony through that familiar music, giving the performance a foundation that balances the visual storytelling. Local dancers join State Street Ballet, turning the stage into a collaboration between visiting professionals and the community.

Make this a plan for someone in your family who enjoys the ritual of returning to a favorite tradition. A grandparent, a niece, the partner who appreciates a seasonal evening out: each might find a different reason to make this annual event part of December. The production gives you a shared experience to reference long after the decorations come down.
