Spokane Symphony: The Nutcracker With The State Street Ballet

Spokane Symphony: The Nutcracker With The State Street Ballet at Martin Woldson Theatre At The Fox

Some holiday traditions ask you to make time. This one asks you to make room for everyone you want beside you. The Nutcracker Ballet returns to the Martin Woldson Theatre at the Fox in Spokane on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM. State Street Ballet joins the Spokane Symphony and over 90 local dancers to bring Tchaikovsky's score and the familiar story to life. If your idea of December includes gathering the people who matter most, this matinee gives you a reason to do exactly that.

Tchaikovsky's music gains weight when performed live by a full orchestra. Recorded versions offer convenience; a live symphony in the room with you offers presence. The Spokane Symphony plays the score as State Street Ballet moves through the choreography, so you hear every shift in tone as the story unfolds. Conductor James Lowe leads the musicians through a work that balances precision with emotion.

Over 90 local dancers share the stage with State Street Ballet, which means this production reflects Spokane as much as it honors a classic. Your neighbor's daughter, a friend's son, or a student you know might be among the performers. That connection turns the performance into something you root for, not just admire from a distance.

Bring the grandparents, the young ones, the partner who marks December by this show. A Saturday afternoon performance leaves your evening open and gives multi-generational groups a manageable timeline.
