Mrs. Doubtfire - The Musical

Mrs. Doubtfire - The Musical at First Interstate Center for the Arts

An out-of-work actor desperate to stay in his kids' lives disguises himself as a Scottish nanny. That premise lands somewhere between absurd and oddly touching, which is exactly why Mrs. Doubtfire works. On Wednesday, February 3, 2027, at 7:00 PM, the musical adaptation comes to First Interstate Center for the Arts in Spokane. Critics call it wonderful, heart-warming and laugh-out-loud funny. If you want a night that balances humor with genuine feeling, this show delivers both.

The story is familiar from the film, but a musical gives it room to expand. Two and a half hours with intermission means the production can explore the emotional beats alongside the comedy. You get the laughs you expect and the moments that remind you why the story resonated in the first place. Theater lets you experience that balance in real time, with a live cast working through every scene.

This is the kind of show that works for an evening with family or friends who appreciate a story everyone already knows. Sharing a performance you all recognize gives you common ground, whether you saw the original film years ago or introduced it to someone recently. The musical offers a fresh way into material that already means something.
