Mystic Pizza

Mystic Pizza at First Interstate Center for the Arts

Three waitresses, one pizza parlor, and the kind of small-town drama that makes every decision feel life-changing. Mystic Pizza takes the charm of the 1988 rom-com and gives it a musical heartbeat built from the decade's biggest hits. Saturday, March 6, 2027, at 7:00 PM, First Interstate Center for the Arts hosts this touring production, adapted by Sandy Rustin and directed by Casey Hushion. If you loved the original film or just miss when pop songs could make you feel invincible, this show is worth your evening.

The score pulls from Cyndi Lauper, Melissa Etheridge, The Bangles, Belinda Carlisle, and Wilson Phillips, among others. Familiar songs carry the emotional weight of the story, turning moments of love, frustration, and ambition into something you might already know the chorus to. A jukebox musical works best when the songs feel like they were always part of the story. This one leans into the infectious optimism of 80s and 90s pop, anchored by choreography from Connor Gallagher.

Take someone who wants a Saturday night that feels fun without asking too much. Maybe a friend who quotes the movie, or the partner who loves a good love triangle on stage. At roughly two hours and fifteen minutes, it fills an evening without dragging. Spend your Saturday with waitresses who serve pizza, hope, and a soundtrack that defined a generation. Check ticket options for Mystic Pizza and give yourself a reason to remember why you loved rom-coms in the first place.
