The Sound of Music
The Sound of Music at First Interstate Center for the Arts
Love, resilience and the power of music drive The Sound of Music, the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical that has connected audiences across generations for decades. On Saturday, May 29, 2027, at 7:30 PM, this touring production comes to First Interstate Center for the Arts in Spokane. If you know someone who grew up with the songs, or a child ready to discover them, this is a live evening that gives all of you something to share.
Three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien directs this tour, bringing fresh energy to a story many already love. Maria, the spirited novice who follows her heart beyond closed doors, meets the von Trapp family in a tale of music shaping lives during uncertain times. Familiar songs like "Do-Re-Mi," "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" and "Edelweiss" connect the live stage to moments you might already carry with you.
Bring the person who sang these songs to you first, or introduce a younger generation to a musical built to last. A shared evening watching a story unfold in real time offers something screens rarely deliver: the chance to experience the same moment together, in the same room, without pause or distraction.
This is theater meant to be witnessed live, with performers who give familiar songs an immediate human presence. Check ticket options for The Sound of Music in Spokane and plan a Saturday night around a musical that still teaches new generations to sing.
