Spokane Symphony: The Nutcracker With The State Street Ballet

Spokane Symphony: The Nutcracker With The State Street Ballet at Martin Woldson Theatre At The Fox

The Nutcracker comes back every December because watching it together is a tradition worth keeping. On Sunday, December 6, 2026, at 3:00 PM, the Spokane Symphony performs Tchaikovsky's score live at the Martin Woldson Theatre At The Fox while State Street Ballet and over 90 local dancers bring the story to life. This isn't background music piped through speakers. It's a full orchestra playing every note in the same room where you watch the performance unfold.

The value of attending in person shows itself when the dancers move in time with musicians you can see and hear. The connection between orchestra and stage gives the production its emotional weight. For anyone who grew up with this ballet, that live presence turns familiar music into something you feel again, not just recognize.

Bring a child experiencing it for the first time, or invite the grandmother who took you years ago. Sharing The Nutcracker across generations is one reason it endures. The afternoon timing makes it easier to include young ones without pushing bedtimes, and everyone leaves with the same memory to reference later.
